Why the Incidence is High in Women
Female urethras are shorter (approx. 4cm) compared to the longer male urethra.
The proximity of the anus and vaginal opening increases the chance of bacterial invasion.
Sexual activity, urethral irritation, or pregnancy can facilitate bacterial entry into the bladder.
Preventing recurrence is just as important as treatment
Prevention Methods
Maintain cleanliness of the anal and genital areas.
Drink plenty of water.
Do not hold back the urge to urinate.
